It’s all you hear anymore, about how you should exfoliate your skin. You may be wondering what does it mean and why should you do it?

Besides having a few wrinkles, the difference in my over-50 skin and the fresh young texture of my skin at age 15 is one thing — dry, dead skins cells! A bowl of beans and corn on the side. The cycle of my skin making new skin cells and naturally exfoliating off used to take 28 days – now it’s closer to 45-60 days! See the diagram to the right? When your skin cells are new, they look like the grapes, nice and plump with water. The older the cells become, the more they look like the top layer of dry cornflakes. Just like you would imagine, this slow natural flaking off of our skin cells results in older looking skin. By exfoliating, we not only remove that tired old skin but also encourage our skin to make fresh skin cells.

So, what’s the best way to exfoliate your skin? We offer a great product with a fun name – Rough Love body scrub! Rough Love is a fragrant salt mud fusion, with enough grit to get the job done while smelling fabulous at the same time (delicious rosemary and eucalyptus oils). A white container of rough lotion sitting on top of a table. Our scrub contains enzymes from pumpkin, papain from papaya and bromelain from pineapple, all which combine to exfoliate and keep pores cleared of dead skin cells. Aging, menopausal skin needs to be regularly detoxified and exfoliated. What nature doesn’t do for us anymore, we must do for ourselves!

Give Rough Love a try – a newer, softer, more hydrated and younger looking you is lurking just underneath that dry, old skin! Follow the link to learn more about how to use Rough Love body scrub.
